The figure of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, in the celebration of the fiftieth year of his death, which took place on April 8, 1973, is always a reference for artists, critics, art lovers who gravitate around the current cultural and artistic universe.
Artistic speculation passes from the relationship that the individual has with reality to the relationship he has with culture and cultural currents. Picasso along with other artists from other fields, literature James Joyce, or music, like Stravinsky is measured against a completely changed society and conception of art and culture.
Picasso captures the mutations, and he interprets the changes in a revolutionary and ingenious way, the aesthetic perception of what is art or an artwork translates into great experiments and risky executions. The forms lose their classicism and enter the contemporary sphere, the figure deconstructs, breaks down and reality changes perspective both in painting and in sculpture.
The themes that touch the Malaga artist are marginalized, acrobats, harlequins, loves and bloody events. Six Italian artists, each with his own style, reinterpret the Spanish artist's masterpieces, making them become an actuality.

The Absinthe Drinker, a Picasso artwork as well, dates back to the very first years of the twentieth century, is revisited by Michelangelo Toffetti.
